Sherif Awad is a specialist Laparoscopic (keyhole), Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric (weight loss) Surgeon and is Clinical Lead for the East-Midlands Bariatric & Metabolic Institute (EMBMI) based at Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Sherif performs over 300 keyhole procedures each year with expertise in Bariatric (weight loss) procedures, and surgery for acid reflux and hiatus hernias, gallstones, hernias, stomach and oesophageal cancer, and keyhole small bowel resections. He also undertakes other general surgical procedures such as removal of lumps, division of adhesions and Endoscopy.

Sherif accepts referrals for insured, self-pay and NHS patients. Sherif works with most insurance companies (BUPA, AXA PPP, Cigna, WPA, Benedon, Vitality Health)
